Summary:

Charles is a guy that likes to play the field. He’s highly sought after in the Mansion, both for his prowess, and his position. He’s content to stay the playboy for life, too, steeped in the culture in which he was raised.

That is, until he finds himself on a mission with Ann, trying to figure out why shifters are mysteriously going missing. Suddenly things that were so clear cut, get muddled.

When Ann succumbs to the danger that is plaguing her kind, all bets are off.

Review:

So….I certainly aggressively tapped my screen hoping that there was a more to this book only to sadly find out that there wasnt. I am sad to see the series end but hey i get it, most good things come to an end. Now lets talk about the book:

Other than it feeling like it was too short I absolutely LOVED this book. I loved everything about it. We get a glimpse at Sasha and Stefan one last time. We hear the outcome of Paulie, His gang and his woman. We get to see how Jonas ended up and his more caring side, though it isnt exactly considered soft but it is still a delight to see the miniscule changes in him since book one. Last but not least K.F. Breene gives us this golden little nugget full of laughs, angst, and of course full of loyalty and love. I mean it was about time Charles grew up all the way and I am glad it was with Ann. I have been waiting for those two to hook up since Ann was introduced and they started bickering.

I was pretty surprised about how the story actually went, meaning I didn’t expect KF Breene to take it in the direction that she did but i am glad that she did. There was a wicked amount of movement and action with the typical blow shit up scenes and alpha male tarzan saves jane but it was so different with Charles at the front and ready to tear things apart. In this one Stefan wasn’t the one leading the charge and for once Jonas was all silent and steely support. Other than the action…the blood exchange in this one…was hot…it completely threw me off and honestly had me fanning my face a bit. It was just earthy and almost scandalous in such a  good way. Let me just say that when Ann and Charles actually get down to business I am more than impressed and I wasn’t even there!

I wasn’t expecting everything to work out and be dandy between Stefan’s people and the shifters. I suppose that is really just my fault since I have read the series since book one but i just really enjoyed this book. TIt had nothing to do with it being bittersweet since its the last one but for me i think it had a lot to do with how light it was. I dont know really. I was just satisfied with this book as both the Charles book alone and as the end of the series. I was truly thrilled that I had stuck it out through the ups and downs of this series because at the end it was looking back at fond memories with well loved friends.

I just never thought charles would settle down and then he did but he did so in the midst of battle, guys, he had some miracle grow and had an insta-grown up moment where he stormed the castle and took his woman back and whisked her away to safety AND THEN BLEW SHIT UP! sighs…Charles definitely pulls the romantic out of me on a bad day. He is sweet, funny, hawt, super romantic, knows women and knits. He genuinely cares about his “pack” and would move the earth if he could or had to for them.

I thought that Jonas was the end of the series but this, this was perfect and I must say K.F Breene. Thank you. Thank you so much for giving us the ending we so desperately wanted. It was like you tied a cute little bow on top of this story and sent a hug to each reader. It was a great journey and for me this was the best story.

Recommendation:

HELL YES! If you made it all the way up to Jonas DO IT! PLEASE DO IT! IF YOU HAVENT?! what are you thinking? Go read this series! Book #1 is Free on Amazon Still

Summary:

Seventh Book in the Bestselling Series

Jonas isn’t the kind of guy to submit to the expectations of others, even when his life is on the line. So when he wakes up in the cell of a dungeon with torture devices hanging on the wall, he can only think one thing: this should be fun. What he didn’t expect, however, is the beautiful but broken female pitting herself against his resolve. For once, the pain of his past is shallow in comparison to another, and he wants nothing more than to extinguish her pain.

When Sasha realizes one of her own has been taken, the gloves come off. Using her ever-expanding resources of both human and non-human magic workers, she sets out to battle the most advanced, most experienced magic worker in the world. Regardless of being completely outmatched, Sasha and Stefan rush to Jonas’ aid.

Review:

I loved that this was a super quick read infused with BOTH action AND romance. There were moments that were so fraught with despair and action that i had to stop reading for a few seconds to let it sink in. I kept reading so fast that id go back and read again just to be sure that i got it all. I was so happy to learn more about Jonas that i gobbled this up. I was very happy that Jonas found his balance in Emmy.

It distressed me to learn about Emmy’s past and life but once things worked out all was well. There was a point with Emmy and Jonas that i found unbelievable and hard to get past but the story itself was enjoyable. It was nice to have the family aspect brought home when Sasha was ready to take down the world to find Jonas. I hated the loss that we saw and felt in this installment but with war comes loss and in the end things ended up well balanced. This book was about balance in general. We find out more about the faction that not only tried to harm Sasha and the babies in the last book but also about their motivation and about the driving force behind them.

I was worried that the author wouldn’t be able to wrap up the series in a way that would be satisfying to me as a reader but she did a great job in making sure that the loose ends were taken care of. I appreciated that more than anyone could ever know…now in the future if there was ever maybe a book about Charles and Ann i would appreciate it but over all things certainly worked themselves out which made for the perfect ending.

The best part for me was when we got to see magic from Sasha’s point of view. She has a way of just understanding it that comes naturally to her but is very difficult for others. It was wonderful how detailed this scene was and I was completely immersed in the very description of what the other mage’s magic looked like. I kind of wished for her sake that the new mage and her would have had a few teaching moments together but it just wasn’t meant to be. The part I wasn’t in love with was Emmy and Jonas climactic moment. I just felt as though with someone of her very dark past that this scene would have been much more harder for her to execute or at least approached with more trepidation than it was. I felt that this was a delicate matter that should have been handled with more feeling and finesse but it wasn’t. *shrug*

Recommendation:

If you have stuck with the series thus far you absolutely MUST read this book. If you have not read the other books this wouldn’t make much sense.

In the space of twenty-four hours Sasha’s life goes from mundane to being stalked and threatened. A new shifter has moved into town, and if the whispered rumors are to be believed, something even more sinister is lurking behind, watching and waiting for the right moment to spring.

Review:

*I was given this book in exchange for an honest review*
Book 6!! yaaaaaaaaayyyY!!!!! 🙂 This made me so happy! I was very happy to read this so soon after Book 5. At first i loathed the pace. I really really love a fast paced action packed book. Really, but after Book 5 it was nice to relax and enjoy the story and dynamic of all it’s current characters while also being introduced to new characters. It was lovely. We find someone who is very very similar to Sasha BUT fits in so much better with the clan. We find out all the work and sasha’s new mission and JUST when you think that this book is gonna be boring BLAM!!!! We get punched in the face with a surprise!!! and then another one. We see a lot of interaction with the Cato and the council with hints of more upcoming council intrigue. There is also a lot of clan interaction with the Mata – I really enjoy these parts. I can’t wait to see who Anne snares.

This was a fantastic and quick read. I usually can’t help but be frustrated with how quickly a book ends but honestly this was the perfect length and pace after reading the council. We see a COMPLETELY different side of Stefan and Sasha as well as the clan as a whole. We certainly see how Jonas exercises his patience with Sasha – more than he already has that is. The tone of this installment was so completely DIFFERENT from the other novels. For once no one is trying to kill Sasha or capture Stefan. This sounds like it would make for a boring book but it doesnt! you get all mushy and intrigued with the new human and then WHAM! you get molly whopped with something NEW! Its exciting AND relaxed if that makes any sense. I am really happy i stuck with this series over all. I can’t wait to read Jonas and look forward to some serious ass kicking in that book. This one was perfect…. AND THEN!!!

DUN DUH DUN!!!!! THE ENDING!! it almost killed me! I almost had a panic attack and started yelling at my kindle! This simply cannot be!! WHAT IS GOING ON!!!!! NO! NO! This cant be happening! AH ah! Ah! Noooo! [this is what i was mentally screaming at myself while reading the last little bit of the book] The end. wait. what. (hard clicking to turn non existant pages on my kindle) no! ugh come ON! I NEED the next book ASAP! seriously the ending i wouldn’t say it was complete cliff hanger but it definitely leaves you in suspense. You are so curious you consider messaging the Author on facebook to cheer her on to write faster. Sasha is gonna go balls to the wall wild in the next one AND! we get to find out more about our favorite: Jonas.

Recommendation:

DUH! I’d tell anyone to read this series if they love some good ass kicking urban fantasy. It’s lovely to see the characters grow as a individuals and as a whole.
