Review: Five Miles (Gypsy Brothers Book 3)

Five MilesLinks: Amazon, GoodReads
Pages: 94
Genre:  Dark Romance, New Adult, Erotic Short
Stars:  5

*Please note this book is dark romance and deals with serious themes*

This story unfolds over seven volumes approx. 25 – 30,000 words each.

My father taught me the importance of an eye for an eye—a cardinal rule, ingrained in every club member.

A life for a life.

Seven lives in payment for an unimaginable list of sins.

People might wonder why I’m doing this. If this vengeance is borne from some noble cause, that I’m trying to prevent others from suffering at the hands of Dornan Ross and his sons.

But I’m no vigilante.

I’m doing it for me. I’m doing it because I want to. Because the look on Maxi and Chad’s faces when I killed them was a balm to my soul.

This is the fate they have earned. The penance for their crimes.

Two down, five to go.

Time to send some of these brothers off with a bang.

Woooooaah….. Fricking Jase and Sammi had me biting my nails to death today. Like I was so full of anxiety I couldn’t help but pick my nails off and chew at them while I was reading. I had to stop eating my lunch. So far this has been the most action packed one of the series – I am sure this will change but damn!
Everyone is mad at Sammi!! Elliott, Dornan and Jase!!! The scene with Maxi and Sammi – oh my god. Ladies and Gentlemen!!!! We have a heartless killer on our hands! Right now I am really proud of her (slightly disgusted and worried but still proud of her for sticking to her guns) This book really started to show the emotions that i was waiting for in the first two books. It seems to me that reality is slowly seeping into Sammi and the stakes are VERY clear. And leave it up to Jase to put an extra cherry on top because he is going to give me a stroke and I’m not even living a double life. I am on my way to read the next one right now!!!

Review: Vipers Den Part 3 – Tay and Nate

Tay and Nate

Publisher: JB Heller (May 15, 2015)
Pages: 82 Pages
Genre: Short Stories, Contemporary Romance, Romantic Comedy
Source: Amazon, GoodReads
Rating: 4 Stars

This is Part Three in the Vipers Den Series of short stories, however, it is NOT necessary to read the previous books as each is a sexy, sassy and hilarious standalone story.

More than anything Taylor Jane Seymour wants a baby. The problem is, Tay is very much single. And the only man she would ever consider making that kind of a commitment to is Nate. But Tay is under the impression she isn’t Nate’s type. So she writes off the idea of a relationship with him before she even gave the thought time to grow.

When Nate overhears Tay telling the girls she’s considering getting a sperm donor, he just about looses it. The thought of Tay with another mans baby growing inside her beautiful body drives a knife deep into his heart and evokes emotions he’d never felt before. He realises it’s time to break his number one rule and go after the woman he’s been lusting after since he started working at the Den.

* Warning- contains hilarious interactions between two consenting adults trying to make a baby without actually having sex…
**Contains language and adult situations, recommended for readers over 18 years of age.

Whoooo! Talk about moving too fast. I feel like I was the only one that needed to take a step back and breathe a second in this one! Tay and Nate have some serious unrequited love issues and it shows within the first few pages. Taylor Jane is wonderful and sassy and just all too damn happy about life until her biological clock starts ticking. THEN BOOM! The story is just bam bam bam bam bam BAM! One thing after another like you cant seem to catch your breath at all but its ok because Nate is so sweet! Yes hes a former man hoe but so sweet and I mean I KNOW he loves the girl but of course she doesn’t know and neither does he! Yes I liked this story a lot.

I loved these two because of just how easy Nate takes Tay in stride but it was like CHERNOBYL! All at once and well I just wished I had gotten a bit longer out of this one too. Just a little bit. I don’t know. I think I need to maybe find myself a ridiculously long novel but I was tap tapping my kindle…and tap tap tap tapping and I was like shit! No way! I WANT MORE NOW! Sweet story though no lie I had stop for a moment and just squeal in happiness for all of them because there was such a Happy moment that I was overwhelmed for them all for a moment.

Vipers Den is a novella series, but it is five individual stories. Each instalment is focused on a different staff member of Vipers Den. Are you ready meet the quirky staff members and eccentric clients that frequent The Den?

Part Two~ Pixie & Jake
Pixie had a horrible upbringing, at the first chance she had, she ran. Leaving behind everything she had ever known, including the boy who owned her heart.
Nearly 12 years later and Pixie has the life she only ever dreamed of. She is independent, self sufficient, and best of all, happy.
All her memories of the past are just that, mere memories.
Until he finds her.
Jake has been wondering the country just living each day as it came. Trying not to look for the love that left him without explanation all those years ago.
And then he see’s her. He needs answers, he needs closure, he needs her.

*This novella is the second part in the Vipers Den Series. Each installment is a story of it’s own, NOT a continuation of the first.
** If you are interested in romantic comedy, love stories, HEA and contemporary romance then this book is right up your alley.

Hmmm So I don’t know where to start with this one. I liked it. I just didn’t LOVE it the way I loved Piper and Kades story. Don’t get me wrong I love Pixie. I love her style and her class. Just the way she holds herself comes off as regal BUT I just felt like she had potential for a MUCH MUCH longer story. I get it I signed on for Novellas and while I was prepared for the short amount of time it would take for me to read this book I found that Pixie became more and more interesting as the story went on. Ash, her bff, also made for a very interesting story and one that I hope the author pursues. I feel like there was so much that was crammed into this short story that I very well could have filled up on a much longer story about these two. Her background, or the little that we get to see, is chock full of horrifying sounding details that could make a great story. As for Jake he didn’t particularly tickle my cookie with his over possessive machoness but im a pretty insensitive asshole (or so my mother says). Overall I did truly like this book I just felt like there were chapters and chapters missing. Content wise? It was a sweet and relaxing read that I could very easily recommend to someone who just needs to read something lighter than their usual.
