Unstrapped Blog Tour

Synopsis

What do you do when the man who you love more than anyone else in the world terrifies you? This is a question Shyla must confront and it takes her to her breaking point.

The only person who can bring her back is the same person who is capable of destroying her beyond repair.

Shyla has seen a side of Taylor she can never forget. She now understands that not only is he capable of immense tenderness, but ruthless violence. She must decide if she will fully trust Taylor and embrace both his light and darkness, as it is clear both exist equally within him.

Their pasts continue to cast a shadow over their relationship as Shyla attempts to convince Taylor that the only way they can truly embrace the future is to reopen and repair old wounds.

Taylor swears anything he has ever done was to protect Shyla, but Eric’s words haunt her and cast doubts on Taylor’s intentions.

Taylor will do anything for Shyla.

Now she must decide if that is actually good thing.

Review

Cheers to any fellow first time blog tour hosts!!! 🙂 Thanks to Nina G Jones for making me want to jump on board a tour to help foist her writing on to others and a special shout out to Book Enthusiast Promotions for being ever so patient with me on this first time venture; I really appreciate it more than you know. Now on to the goods: Unstrapped – the final installment in the Strapped Trilogy. The last little bit of yumminess about Taylor and Shyla. *sighs* Ever the twisted romantic I loved this so SO much. It was gritty and nerve wracking. I was touched with sadness on behalf of Shyla and desperation on behalf of Taylor. This installment felt longer than the other two but for me that was OK because the author certainly tied up all loose ends and put a pretty little bow on it. I admit for a moment there I was completely envious of the European tour these two took but I think it was well deserved after going through the things they went through.

The writing was fluid and captured you. The Plot….the plot sucker punched me towards the end in a way that I didn’t know I could be surprised. In fairness I am sure the intention of the author was to simply surprise you but I sat for a moment in absolute stunned silence unable to read further. I was almost horrified with the implications of the simple plot twist and absolutely thrown off balance for a moment. My whole world stopped and it all came crashing down with just a few paragraphs. Yes, I survived but honestly Mrs. Jones…save my heart please.

This wasn’t a light read by no means. You delve into some serious darkness and at some point are afraid you will become saturated with it the way Shyla has. You end up becoming immersed in the depth of what she is feeling and cant help but sympathize with her. I can’t help but mourn for her and Eric just a little bit. For me it was really hard to be on Taylor’s side until he started to explain himself. Shyla to the end was #TeamTaylor and I am proud of her for it. Proud that even through the depression and angst she knew she still loved the crazy fucked up man known as Taylor Holden.

The sex as usual was super steamy and mind blowing. The romance between them, well, frankly it made me jealous and I have given up on finding such a thoughtful, rich, boyfriend. Taylor still manages to surprise me and Shyla has learns to accept and embrace her true form as Taylor’s other half. She is able to move on with life thankfully and it is wonderful. She gets her heartbroken again momentarily but honestly there isn’t anything to be done about it and that sucks. I am just so happy that these two go their happy ending and happily ever after.

There were so many questions answered in this book that there was no way for me to be dissatisfied with it. I found myself rushing to read through pages trying to find out what happens next. I had to eventually cover up some parts of my kindle so I wouldn’t skip ahead. Truth is, as much as i tried, I couldn’t find ANYTHING to dislike about this book. My heart pounded in suspense, i was shocked into outrage and pity in some parts, and I got choked up in other parts. I mean we FINALLY find out about what really really happened when Taylor was a kid. I don’t mean when he was with his mother but what made him so indifferent to his current parents as well. It was simply amazing how much sympathy I had for the man. I am proud of the way the story turned out and I didn’t so much as proof read it or in any way help the author with it. Normally the last book falls flat for me but this, well this was just the cherry on top for me. 🙂 Cherries *giggle* – you’ll find out for yourself if you haven’t already.

I am crossing my fingers and hoping for some weird reason that we get a short story later on for these two characters. They have simply been the most amazing characters a girl could ask for and I am sad to see the resolution of the series but as they say All Good Things Must Come to an End. I give this a solid 5 stars and definitely recommend this to anyone who has read the first and second one already.
