ABOUT THE RESCUE ME SAGA: The books in the ongoing Rescue Me Saga are not stand-alone stories and should be read in order. Characters will recur in later books to deal with further issues in their lives as the saga continues and each book builds upon all previous ones. Sometimes main characters even need another book to help resolve major issues affecting their relationships.
BONUS MATERIAL in this version: Kallypso Masters has added the PLAYLIST of music that inspired her as she wrote about the first three couples mentioned in this combined volume, as well as a GLOSSARY OF TERMS and a CAST OF CHARACTERS in these books in the saga.
CONTENT WARNING: Intended for mature adult readers not offended by profanity and graphic (but never gratuitous!) sex scenes. Due to the emotional way in which the author presents the subject matter (past and present), the books might cause triggers while reading. Please read the Author’s Notes at the beginnings of each book before reading further.
Alright. So! I’ve been sitting on this review for a few days trying to figure out the best way to say so much without saying anything. First off i want to say that this book is NOT a stand alone novel and would not make sense unless you read 1-3 first. You can get the prequel and book 1 for free on amazon. Second off: its adult content. Its Kinky and BDSM-y and a bit controversial. I’m Ok with that if you are not don’t bother reading any of em. NOW! How did i feel about this? hmmm – it was long. I mean normally yes i love a good lengthy read but this was 1. Longer than her other novels and 2. it felt dragged out. I read some other reviews for this book and it mentioned that Angelina was being whiny and both Marc and Angelina kept flip flopping with their feelings. I agree to a point. I agree that like any other story they could have stuck to a plot and story line but love is messy and sticky. Especially when you have deep issues from a suppressed source compounded with extensive military background to further suppress the issues. *shrugs* it was gonna be flip floppy and kind of annoying because everyone has been there at least once. I loved that this novel picked up and gave a different perspective from one of the other novels, book 3 i believe, and also ties up some of the loose ends of that novel as well. All couples were shown and represented in this book and i hope with her next one [i hope there is one because Luke is kind of awesome] we can see the whole “family” happy and content. The Master at Arms group is not your typical family and that is OK as well. This book itself was rife with indecision and denial of all and any issues. Angie and Marc finally hit a good place living together then BOOM! he runs she runs they both run and decimation of all that we know. There is a scene that employs SERE interrogation tactics that some felt was unnecessary or overly raw but i took it in stride. Maybe because I know that Marc not only has suppression issues but was also trained to keep suppressing them as well. *shrugs* the author chose to go about it this way with this character and i support her simply because nothing is black and white but mostly an infinite array of shades of gray. Though i understand that things had to develop i feel like the book could have been made shorter and less dragged out. *sighs* i barely made it to the very end. LOVED it at the very end mind you but barely. made. it. 500 pages to break them up and get them back together again to live happily ever after was a bit over the top for me. i could understand the intense SERE interrogation, the torture. I can understand the tangents the story went on for the other characters but geeez!!! *shrugs* if you’ve read book 1-3 give this one a shot I enjoyed the developments made in the other characters as well as the conclusion of Angie and Marc. After the end i was super happy Angie and Marc reached some resolution or i was gonna poke my eyes out…ok maybe only one eye.
