Now four years later he has returned. When her feelings and missing parts of herself that left with him return also, loyalty, restraint and love will be tested. Can she find a way to leave the threatening clutches of Danny, to finally be saved by her childhood love? Or will Danny’s hold on her tighten when more life shattering events consume their already troubled lives?

When Sammy returns home, after four years of being away from the girl that broke his heart, he’s not prepared for all his old feelings to force their way straight back into his heart. Questions that were left unasked when he left begin to plague him, when the sudden relationship between River and Danny all those years ago seems all the more confusing now. Secrets, mistrust and Danny’s possessive behaviour sends up red flags and Sammy begins doubting himself for leaving in the first place. When the spark between Sammy and river finally ignites it will leave explosive consequences for everyone.

This was a guilty pleasure read for me. It was good but it was so…pointless. The ending threw me for a complete loop and i cannot decide if i want to demand another book or just wanna sign off the WHOLE story as ruined. *shrugs* Anyhow I loved this story – River and how broken she is, Sammy and how unconditionally he loves River, Jasper and his man whorring self and even the kinda creepy Derek. Tragedy touched a bit of each character and some grew out of it but others not so much. I loved River but I hated how she stayed weak and yes i understand it takes a very very long time to recover from the things she’s been through but sometimes she didn’t make sense. The story was steamy in parts and made you the bad kind of anxious in the threatening parts. OK honestly what killed me the most and i can’t even decide if i liked it was the last page…THE VERY LAST PAGE!  If there is a second book that goes WITH this one and continues with Sammy and River’s story then WOW!!!! It was a great left hook to the face but if there is no continuing novel then that was just shitty. I mean how can you even END it like that when you’ve already said it can’t happen!!!! WHY?! WHY!? WHY!?? I am honestly on the fence about this book. Loved it but at the same time i cringe because i feel like there was so so much more potential for the over all story. 😦 There was a lot of focus on sex and less on figuring ways out of each of their situations. The kind of creepy guy next door is totally cool no need to cover my boobs while he is standing there or anything and hey yea even though I’ve been continuously traumatized since I was 16 it’s totally ok to use angry sex in a completely public and awkward location as a way to show me who’s boss. basically this book kind of made me gobble it up like a huge chocolate cake while simultaneously hating myself for enjoying it. Truly I liked this book but i feel bad for liking it. I give it a 3 because I’ll read book 2 out of curiosity [the reviews say its not really related to book 1] and mostly because i feel like a fat kid on a diet sneaking a cookie. I liked that it was dark and twisty while maintaining a shred of romance.

For $0.99 I say give it a go and enjoy it before all of the thinking sets in! Its a great book to read without thought to your IQ and if you just feel like reading. As a warning to others: This book does contain: a slutty threesome, emotional and sexual abuse, an almost murder or 3, drug addiction, a psycho path and one creepy neighbor who lets everyone from the neighborhood move in with him. Happy Reading!
